The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.
How many of you love what you do? How many of you find that what you love to do is hampered by a lack of leadership? I admire the leadership that was displayed by Steve Jobs to follow his passion and heart. Even after he had been fired by Apple, ten years after starting his very own company, he continued to pursue and practice that which he loved. This love resulted in the birth of Pixar and NeXT, two more brilliant innovations in technology.
So what about you, when was the last time you got fired, but continued to do what you love? What were the dots that you connected after being fired? According to Steve, there is no way to connect the dots looking forward; however, it is very clear and easy to connect the dots looking backwards. You have to trust that somehow the dots will connect in the future. Trust your intuition, your heart, and your passion to connect the dots in your life, and love what you do.
Thanks for loving what you did, Steve!
